Levy Secure Hat Trick at SMSP

M Levy 1Yamaha Racing Development rider Mitch Levy has dominated round 4 of the Swann Insurance Supersport Championship with hat trick of wins at Sydney Motorsport Park on his Yamaha R6.

The young Sydney privateer scored an impressive win in race 1 by 4.5 seconds after starting from P2 in the 7 lap race. Levy followed up the race 1 victory with a comfortable win in race 2 over fellow Sydneysider Giuseppe Scarcella (Honda CBR600) after championship leader Kyle Buckley (BC Performance ZX6) made an uncharacteristic mistake and jump started relegating him to 3rd position.

M Levy 2Levy rode a controlled final race bringing his Yamaha YRD R6 home just under half a second in front of Scarcella and Buckley to round out a successful day for the team. Levy’s hat trick now sees him draw level in the Australasian Supersport Championship with Buckley as they head into round 5 of the 6 round Championship at Queensland Raceway in just over a month time.
Mitch Levy “We came into this round 12 points shy of the championship leader and really needed to make a move if we want to win the championship. I knew all the boys would be fired up this weekend and I needed to be at the top of my game. We were able to get away with a clear win in race 1 and from there it was about managing my pace over the remaining 2 races. The team worked hard in the lead up and all weekend and gave me a fantastic package for Saturday. I cannot thank them enough”.
